We are excited to be back for our first trading weekend of 2025, you can find us and get your favourite flavoured deliciousness at Hovingham village market on 1st February and Harrogate valley gardens on the 2nd. We very much hope to welcome customers new and old. We can't wait to see you all.
Happy new year to all of our customers old and new. You probably expected it but due to massive chocolate cost increases, regrettably we have to increase our prices, we have kept this to an absolute minimum but from our first event on 2nd February we will be charging £5 for one portion, £9.50 for two portions, £14 for three portions and £18 for four portions. We hope you understand and will still come back to see us.
We keep getting requests for Doggie fudge, so we listened, we sourced doggie safe ingredients and we created "The K9's Pralines". So you tell us what you think. One thing for certain... they look good, and they taste good because YES they are safe for humans aswell.
After an eventful 2024 weather wise, a few cancellations here and there, we have had a very satisfying year. With only 3 events left Selby Garden centre 14th, Harrogate valley gardens 15th and Hovingham village market on the 21st, so if you are around, please come and say hello. We are beginning to bring our Xmas orders together for delivery on the 22nd ( a few exceptions) We have a growing following on social media with 703 on Facebook, 178 on Instagram. Massive apologies to anyone expecting to see us at Hovingham and also Snaith on the 7th December, but due to STORM DARRAGH and the high winds and rain, we have had to pull out. Ripley Castle on Sunday 8th December has been moved indoors and we will be there, with a huge amount of fudge in over 30 flavours/varieties, so please have a little run out and come and see us. Lots and lots of tasters.
We are now very happy to accept your Christmas orders, we have available Upright character boxes, Hessian character bags for hanging on your tree and our wonderful Christmas crackers to brighten up your dinner table on the big day, and of course you can order a full tray of our fudge if you really want to over indulge. If you live in North Yorkshire we will be delivering on Sunday 22nd December but all orders need to be with us by the 8th December.

We have had such a busy week and we met some lovely people, of course our ever loyal returning customers, lots of lovely new customers and a few faces you all may recognise. We were at ITV and met the cast of Emmerdale, we were at Wiggyfest and met the outrageous Ginger Slice, and at Thirsk and Sowerby we were joined by Yorkshire Vet Peter Wright and his lovely wife Lin. Made for a super weekend. No time to rest though as Halifax Show is next weekend.....BRING IT ON.
The next step in the Smudges Fudges story is the horsebox, we intend to create a rolling fudge shop and we should be ready for the 2025 season. We will show different stages on here and you can look out for the finished product next year.
What a fantastic weekend at Tractorfest, Newby Hall. The crowds came out, the weather in the main was fine if a little cool and we had visits from new and returning customers, selling out on both days. Huge thanks to the organisers, especially Katie, who should be very proud of her achievements. A few pictures from the weekend. We will be back in 2025.
We will be trading at Acomb Library tomorrow in York 18/05/24 Its a fundraising day and we wanted to be part of it. So if you are in Acomb, for the Little Birds street market, just take a stroll a 150 metres up the road and come and see us and get your fudgilicious fix. New flavour for tomorrow is Kinder Bar. Most of our time goes into producing our amazing fudges, but we also organise an annual dinner for the Yorkshire air ambulance and the Snappy Trust (a disabled children's charity based in York).
